Application and Messaging Data: Job applications you submit, their status history, and messages exchanged with recruiters or candidates through our platform.
Employer and Company Data: If you create a company workspace, your company name, job postings, and information about team members you invite.
External Profile Links: If you choose to link accounts such as GitHub or LinkedIn to your candidate profile, the URL and, where you complete verification, confirmation that the link belongs to you.
Usage Data: Information about how you use our platform, including browsing behavior and preferences, which helps us improve your experience.
Cookies and Tracking Information: We use cookies to enhance your user experience and gather analytical data for website optimization.

3. How We Use Your Information

The information we collect is used for several purposes:

To Provide Services: We use your data to create and manage your CV, as well as to provide other features such as saving drafts or sharing your CV with employers.
To Power Job Matching and Career Features: If you publish a candidate profile, we use your CV and profile data to compute AI-based fit scores against job postings, generate career insights (such as estimated seniority or salary range), and generate interview practice questions — see Section 5a for how this involves a third-party AI provider.
To Operate the Job Board: We use employer-submitted job postings, and job listings aggregated from third-party job search services, to populate the public job board and to match candidates with relevant openings.
To Send Alerts and Digests: If you opt in, we use your profile and preferences to send you emails about new job postings, profile views, or saved-search matches. You can change the frequency of these emails or turn them off at any time from your dashboard.
To Improve Our Platform: We use feedback and usage data to enhance functionality, improve the design, and troubleshoot issues.
To Communicate: We may send you notifications regarding updates, system maintenance, or changes to our terms or privacy policy.
To Personalize Your Experience: We may use your data to suggest content and recommendations based on your interests and behavior on the platform.

Recruiters and Employers: If you publish a candidate profile ("Get Hired"), the information you've chosen to make visible — subject to your own per-field visibility settings — is shown to recruiters and companies searching the candidate directory or reviewing applicants to their job postings. Nothing is shared with recruiters until you explicitly publish your profile, and you may unpublish it or hide individual fields at any time.
Other Users, via Messaging: If you send a message to a recruiter, candidate, or company through our platform, the content of that message is visible to the recipient and stored so both parties can view the conversation history.
Service Providers: We may share your data with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in offering the platform and services, such as hosting, payment processors, and analytics providers. These partners are required to keep your information confidential.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law or to comply with legal processes such as a subpoena or a court order.
Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your personal data may be transferred as part of the transaction. We will notify you of such changes if they occur.

5a. AI Processing and Third-Party Job Listings

Some features on our platform rely on artificial intelligence and on data sourced from outside our platform. We want you to understand exactly how this works:

AI-Powered Matching and Insights: When you use features such as job fit scoring, career insights, or AI-generated interview practice questions, relevant parts of your CV and profile data are sent to a third-party AI provider for processing. This data is used solely to generate the requested output (a score, a summary, a set of questions) for your account, and is not used by us to build a public profile of you beyond what you've already made visible.
Aggregated, Anonymous Data Only for Public Insights: Our public Salary Insights page shows only aggregated statistics (such as average salary ranges by seniority level) computed across many users. It never displays, and cannot be used to identify, any individual candidate's data.
Third-Party Job Listings: Some job postings shown on our job board are aggregated from external, third-party job search services rather than submitted directly by an employer on our platform. We do not independently verify the accuracy or legitimacy of these external listings — see our Terms and Conditions for more on this.
Profile View Tracking: If your candidate profile is published, we record when a recruiter views it (deduplicated to at most once per recruiter per day) so we can show you an aggregate "who viewed your profile" summary. We do not show candidates the identity of a specific recruiter who viewed them beyond what that recruiter's own profile already discloses.

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve your experience on our platform. These technologies help us understand how users interact with our site and allow us to enhance your experience by remembering your preferences and past actions.

You have the option to disable cookies through your browser settings. However, doing so may affect the functionality of certain features on our platform.

7. Your Rights and Choices

As a user, you have several rights regarding your personal data:

Access and Update: You can access, update, or correct your personal information at any time by logging into your account.
Control Recruiter Visibility: If you have a candidate profile, you can publish or unpublish it at any time, and independently toggle the visibility of individual fields such as location or salary expectations, directly from your Get Hired settings.
Revoke Linked-Account Consent: If you've linked an external profile (such as GitHub or LinkedIn) to your candidate profile, you can remove that link at any time, which immediately revokes our consent to display it.
Delete Your Data: If you wish to delete your data, you can request that we remove your information from our platform.
Withdraw Consent: If you have previously consented to the collection of your personal data, you may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us.
Data Portability: You have the right to request a copy of your personal data in a structured, commonly used format.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Any changes will be posted on this page, and we encourage you to review this policy regularly.
